Job Description:

Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newnan, GA is looking for a Board Eligible/Board Certified Medical Oncologist to join our dynamic team.

The Medical Oncologist will practice alongside a well-established team of medical oncologists and other specialists to deliver patient-focused care. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience as a practicing physician as well as success and experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities will include assisting in the development of new programs and clinical services, providing training to technical staff as needed, and participating in clinical research and design.

Practice Details:

  • 8AM-5PM five days per week with five weeks PTO plus six national holidays, 401k, malpractice and health insurance
  • Work with multidisciplinary team of physicians, APP’s, clinic nurses, and MA’s
  • Mostly office-based practice seeing new and existing patients and supervising APP’s
  • Occasional inpatient consults for any of your patients admitted for any reason to the hospital
  • Cared for by hospitalists/intensivists while inpatient
  • No ER, only urgent care center for our own patients while staying local to hospital
  • Call rotates weekly based on the number of Medical Oncologists
  • Available for questions regarding patients in infusion center after 5PM
  • Available for questions from all medical oncology patients not able to be answered by the evening nurse call center
  • Weekend rounding rarely required.
  • High degree of collegiality, several multidisciplinary tumor conferences and one for each specialty.  Although interesting cases are discussed, more of a working meeting for current challenging patients.
  • Care under one roof, radiologists are 50 feet away from clinic for immediate consultation, surgeons are right down the hall.
  • Fully staffed pain management clinic available to manage all pain needs

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or Foreign Equivalent
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Medical Oncology
  • Georgia Medical License or ability to obtain prior to start date
