Job Description:

Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in suburban Atlanta (Newnan, GA) is currently seeking an outstanding Nurse Practitioner. We invite you to join us in making a difference in patient-centered cancer care!

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Schedule:  4 (10) hour shifts per week (rotating weekends)

  • Hours:   Clinic open Monday-Friday 7am-5pm & Sundays 8am-5pm

  • On call: No on call responsibilities for this position

  • Duties  Evaluate patients in the outpatient urgent care setting and manage acute issues including:

    • Side effects related to oncology treatment

    • Nausea with vomiting

    • Weakness

    • Diarrhea

    • Dehydration

    • Abdominal and epigastric pain

    • Shortness of breath

    • Pleural effusion

    • Acute bronchitis

    • Dizziness and giddiness

    • Gastrostomy complications

    • Coordinate appropriate admissions to Hospitalist, Intensivist , Surgeon

  • Record H&P, patient medical history and all relevant details in the health record 

  • Interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s needs. 

  • Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities  

  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.  

  • Communicates with attending physician regarding plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside the practitioner’s knowledge base or scope of practice.  

  • Assist with coordination and continuity of care working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team. 

  • Responsible for rendering excellent and professional care within the scope of the medical practice, hospital, medical staff, and regulatory guidelines. 

  • Assist in development and participating in departmental and interdisciplinary quality. improvement programs. 

  • Attend endorsement meetings, tumor board, cancer committee, nutrition meetings, team meetings, staff meetings, team huddles, and other meetings as requested by supervising physician or department manager  

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the Mother Standard® of care 

  • Exhibit professional commitment to continuing education, exceeding the necessary required CME’s to satisfy licensing requirements 

  • Assist with training and orienting staff as needed 

  • Follow all State, Hospital, Medical Staff and Employer related policies, rules &   guidelines  

  • Assist with special projects as directed and performs all other duties as assigned by supervising physician or clinic manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Nurse Practitioner 

  • Successful completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner (NP) program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN - formerly NLNAC) 

  • Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for patient documentation, orders, monitoring 

  • Active Georgia State Nursing license 

  • Current DEA

  • Current ACLS 

Physician Assistant

  • Successful completion of an ARC-PA (Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant) approved program 

  • Current certification by the National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

  • Active Georgia Physician Assistant License

  • Current DEA

  • Current ACLS

Pay Range

$98,166.43 - $161,616.00

Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility.  These factors are considered without regard to an individual’s status as a member of any protect group pursuant to federal, state, and/or local law.
